Areas Requiring Improvement

It would be nice if Greg Monroe woke up tomorrow with a larger vertical leap and better defensive instincts, but it’s pretty naive to expect anything of the sort. He’s played in the NBA for six years now–he is who he is, for the most part.

He can still improve some areas of his game, but he won’t completely change as a player in a single summer. His defense could certainly use improvement, but it probably would be incremental if it happened at all.

Monroe could use more tenacity on the glass. He doesn’t get up and fight for rebounds often, explaining his low rebounds per game total for the 2015-16 NBA season. He could use with a better attitude as well, although hopefully he finds more success and less reasons to be upset next season.

If Monroe’s Instagram is any indication, at least he’s been putting in work this summer–even on his birthday!
