Major Key For Milwaukee: Destroy Philly’s Subs

The Philadelphia 76ers actually, somehow, have a positive net rating with Joel Embiid on the floor. Philly outscores opponents by 1.5 points per 100 possessions with Embiid. The team gets smacked by 11.2 points per 100 possessions without him.

The Bucks will have no answer for The Process–smaller centers than Embiid have bodied John Henson recently, and Embiid looks like the closest thing to the next DeMarcus Cousins out there. Milwaukee will struggle to contain him.

Luckily he’s still on a minutes restriction, meaning those reserves that get destroyed on a nightly basis will have to play a lot of minutes without Embiid on Monday. That’s when the Bucks need to strike. If there was ever a time to put Malcolm Brogdon back on the bench, this would be it.

Brogdon might be simply playing too well to get benched at this point, but all the minutes against lineups without Embiid will be crucial for the Bucks. Slowing down Embiid would be great, but it’d be easier to take the game out of his hands by blowing out the Sixers bench each time he sits.
