Reunite Malc and Moose

As the outpouring of support for Malcolm Brogdon to start reached fever pitch, for many skeptics (this writer included), the reservations over a potential lineup change centered on how it could disrupt a partnership that had already become a significant weapon for the Bucks.

Brogdon had formed a formidable bench partnership with Greg Monroe, built behind a great understanding and chemistry on the floor. Together, that duo had become important for Milwaukee in allowing time for Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jabari Parker to rest, and still in many cases kick on.

When the lineup change was initially made, Jason Kidd spoke about making a concerted effort to get Monroe and Brogdon on the floor together as often as possible, but that trend has gone by the way side in recent games.

In Milwaukee’s back-to-back losses on Sunday and Monday, Brogdon and Monroe averaged just over two minutes together. With both players playing some of their most ineffective basketball of the season in recent days that seems particularly noteworthy.

It’s time to let Malc and Moose spend some time together in the second unit again.
