Delly Starts

Matthew Dellavedova started for the first time since straining his hamstring three weeks ago. This was an attempt to get him rolling again, for his play of late hasn’t warranted a larger role than Malcolm Brogdon.

The return to the starting line up did seem to jump start the Australia. Delly shot the ball much better, scoring 15 points on 5-8 from the field (2-3 from deep), and added seven assists to one turnover.

My favorite thing about playing him with the starting line up is how he directs the ball into the hands of Giannis and Jabari. There was one case in particular, where he was bringing the ball up the floor, saw a small guard on Jabari, pointed him to the block, and threw the pass without hesitation. Jabari took advantage of the mismatch.

As well as Malcolm Brogdon has been playing as the starter, he has taken the ball out of Giannis’ and Jabari’s hands.

It would not be surprising to see him continue as the starting point guard.
