Slow Night For The Outlaw

While there were plenty of positives last night for the Bucks, one player who didn’t truly get off the ground was the team’s All-Star, Giannis Antetokounmpo. Playing nearly 37 minutes, Giannis turned in a very underwhelming performance, even with all things considered.

Only taking one shot in the first half, this was just the third time this season where Giannis was held scoreless in the first half, the other two times being on the road against the Dallas Mavericks and the San Antonio Spurs.

It wasn’t until the 8:57 mark of the third quarter where Giannis got his first score of the night, hitting a nice jumper from the top of the key inside the arc. But that struggled to set a spark for him as he followed up with only one more make from the field and converting all four of his free-throw attempts.

That’s not to say there weren’t some bright spots for Giannis as we saw more of him playing with the ball in his hands and making willing passes, ones that only a player of his capabilities could make. In total, Giannis finished with eight points, four rebounds, six assists, along with a steal and a block.

While the Bucks were lucky to have players like Monroe and Beasley lead the way, nights like last night where Giannis gets lost in the shuffle will surely not amount to success on any given night in the future.
