Collison’s Season So Far

As mentioned in Deveney’s article, there’s a dark cloud over Darren Collison’s season. He missed the first eight games of the 2016-17 campaign due to domestic battery charges he pleaded guilty to, as per USA Today.

More from Bucks Rumors

Collison has played well since returning to the Association after the suspension, but it’s hard to dissociate that from him.

Back to basketball–Collison is a 6’0″ point guard who is on an expiring, cheap contract. He makes just over $5 million this season, and will enter unrestricted free agency in the summer. He’ll be making a lot more than $5 million when Collison signs his next deal.

He’s had a strong season on the court. Collison is averaging 13.7 points, 4.2 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 48.1 percent from the field and a career-best 42.1 percent from three-point territory.

Collison is no lock-down defender, but he can shoot and grabs enough steals to at least be disruptive on that end of the floor.
