Major Key For Philadelphia: Score Some Points
The Philadelphia 76ers offense is a work in progress that’s been halted before any progress could be made. No team in the NBA scores less points per 100 possessions than Philly, and even with the fifth-fastest pace in the league the 76ers are 26th in points per game as well.
When the 76ers can put up some numbers, they actually have a pretty good shot at getting the win. Philly is 9-4 in games this season where the team scores at least 110 points.
The loss of the 76ers leading and best scorer, Joel Embiid, certainly doesn’t help matters on that end. After Embiid, the highest per game scorer currently on the roster is Robert Covington, who scores 12.3 points and shoots less than 40 percent from the field.
That’s not great, Bob. The Process hasn’t built nearly enough in Philadelphia yet for the team to survive without Embiid around, and even if it had injuries are destroying the 76ers right now.
Jerryd Bayless, Gerald Henderson, Richaun Holmes, Jahlil Okafor and Ben Simmons all join Embiid on Philly’s injury report right now, and even if some of those guys might suit up against the Bucks that’s a lot of banged-up players to manage.
Luckily for the 76ers, their best non-Embiid player is pretty healthy at the moment.
