Major Key For Milwaukee: Keep Shooting Those Threes

Monday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers was only the third time Milwaukee attempted 33 or more threes in a game this season. The Bucks are 3-0 in those three games, and 5-1 in games where the team took at least 30 threes.

More of that would be good going forward, and against the Knicks. New York is one of the ten worst teams in the NBA in terms of allowing opponents to shoot three-pointers. The best way to defend threes is to prevent them from being taken, and the Knicks aren’t great at that.

With lackluster perimeter defenders like Rose and Anthony starting games there’s not much mystery as to why the Knicks allow lots of threes. New York is an old team, and one that knows they’re lottery-bound no matter how much triangle they run for the rest of the season.

If the Bucks can get good looks from deep, they can bury the Knicks quickly. Shooters like Malcolm Brogdon, Tony Snell, Khris Middleton, Matthew Dellavedova, Mirza Teletovic and Thon Maker could make the difference against New York.
