Two Big, Two Strong

Faced with injuries sidelining Jabari Parker, Michael Beasley, and Mirza Teletovic, Jason Kidd opted to fill the hole in his power forward rotation by playing a two-center frontcourt, a rare move on his part.

Coming into Saturday, the duo of Greg Monroe and John Henson had shared the court for a total of only 10 minutes on the season, according to NBAwowy. Against the Timberwolves, they nearly equaled that number, tallying over nine minutes of game action over two stretches.

Returns were mixed – the two-man lineup of Moose and Hook finished a minus-two and didn’t do much to slow down Towns, but it’ll be interesting to see how situations like these are handled going forward.

A Spencer Hawes/Monroe frontcourt also spent three minutes on the floor, ending up a plus-six on the evening.

Henson actually had a decent game in the second night of his journey back off the bench, finishing with 11 points, six rebounds, and two blocks, as well as a couple nice dunks.

Now five days since his signing, we still have yet to see Terrence Jones get any run, which is curious considering the seemingly obvious need at his position.

However, it was an even longer time before Spencer Hawes made his Bucks debut following the trade deadline, so it looks like Coach Kidd simply prefers to initiate his new acquisitions fully before sending them out.
