89. In his first two games with the Bucks, Gary Payton II, or “The Mitten,” was pretty solid. Sure, he showed signs of being a rookie thrown into the playoff race, but he took it mostly in stride. Payton was just 4-11 (36.4 percent) from the field, but that was better than most of the guards coming off the bench. He also turned the ball over four times.
The signing of Payton adds some much-needed quickness and explosiveness in the backcourt, as he showed with a baseline dunk in his first appearance. Much like his father, who I will refrain from comparing him to again, GPII is an excellent defender who makes you work to get to the basket.
<div class=. PG. Previous: . Gary Payton II. 9. team
