Next Game: A Must Win?

It sucked to see another game slip out of hand for the Bucks, especially since they had been doing so well until this week. With the Philadelphia 76ers coming up on Saturday, it would be truly disturbing to see another loss.

More from Behind the Buck Pass

No game should be treated as a layup right now. The Bucks have already dropped two games to the lowly Sixers squad this season. Now, with multiple key players out, I don’t think it’s too bold to say that the Bucks are very near to hopeless if they can’t right the ship against their tanking Eastern Conference foe.

Even if the playoffs seem very likely, The Bucks are only 1.5 games ahead of the 9th seed. In addition, the current 9th seeded Miami Heat hold a tiebreaker with the Bucks.

But the goal shouldn’t be to just make the playoffs. If the Bucks want to make some noise there, they need to get back to winning some games. As it stands, they’re still the sixth seed, and only half a game back of the fifth. The sooner the Bucks get back to their winning ways of March, the better chance we have of seeing some real competitive playoff basketball.
