Milwaukee Bucks Preview: Game 2 at Toronto Raptors

Major Key For Milwaukee: Careful With Those Screens
It’s a little ridiculous how much has been made out of the officiating in Game 1 by the Toronto Raptors. In a game where the Raptors took more than twice as many free throws as the Bucks did and DeMar DeRozan took one less than the entire Bucks team, Dwane Casey really seems to think Toronto got the short end of the stick.
Counting foul calls isn’t everything in officiating, but it is indicative of which teams are getting contact fouls called. Despite 16 of his shots coming from within the arc and many of them being contact dunks or layups, Giannis got to the line just five times on Saturday.
Regardless of how the officiating actually went, Casey and the Raps have made a huge deal out of the Bucks screens since. Lori Nickel at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel wrote a piece detailing the complaints with quotes from both Casey and DeRozan about Matthew Dellavedova‘s screens in particular.
Delly probably has set more than a few moving screens in his day, but he’ll have to be careful about that on Tuesday. Toronto’s grousing about the non-calls last time may result in the officials paying more attention to Delly’s screen game going forward. If it does, the Bucks should certainly return fire and start whining about Giannis not getting more calls.
