The Bucks Couldn’t Climb Ahead

Time and time again on Tuesday night the Bucks fell behind. While they did a good job of getting back into the game, they could never fully climb ahead, and in the end they didn’t have enough in them to take the lead.

The Bucks entered the second quarter down by three, and promptly gave up an 8-2 run that put them down by nine. Still, they battled back to tie it, but later let the Raptors put another small run together and lead 50-42. They brought it back to just 52-55 at halftime.

After being tied at 60 in the third, the Raptors went on a 15-3 run that gave them a 12-point lead. The Bucks answered with a 15-4 run, that left them just one point behind. Again in the fourth, the Raptors scored 11 straight, but the Bucks still managed to tie it at 100 with just two minutes to go.

Credit the resolve of this young team for hanging around, but they could never use a run to take a commanding lead. The Raptors might not have responded very well under the pressure of facing a two game disadvantage this early in the series.

The Bucks have to be able to find a way to avoid giving up runs and falling behind. You have to be pleased with the mental toughness that this team showed, but disappointed they didn’t show the killer instinct to steal a win this time out.
