The Best of Middleton
Middleton started his shortened season slow and he tapered off at the end, but for the most part he was good in the regular season. One of the best signs for Khris was his three-point percentage, which was a career-best 43.3 in 2016-17.
The sample size is small there, but Middleton still being able to hit threes is obviously crucial for him going forward. The Bucks need Middleton to be more than a three-and-d player these days, but at the very least Khris needs to be hitting those triples and playing capable defense for Milwaukee to find success.
The other good news for Middleton, then, is that his defense was also strong in the regular season. With Khris on the floor, the Bucks allowed 104 points per 100 possessions in the regular season. Without him, Milwaukee coughed up 107.1 points per 100 possessions.
Middleton being on the floor gave the Bucks a net rating of plus 5.7, best among anybody Milwaukee had to offer in 2016-17. Even in a limited role recovering from injury, Khris Middleton clearly helped the Bucks in his regular season minutes.
