Luke Fischer

Center – 6’11”

There’s been a strong local presence at recent Bucks workouts and that only continued on Monday. Joining the multiple players from Marquette and Wisconsin who have already auditioned for the Bucks was center Luke Fischer.

Unlike all of those who have generated attention due to the connection of coming from a school based in the state, Fischer’s connection runs deeper as he is in fact a native of Germantown, WI and a former Wisconsin Mr. Basketball.

In his third season with the Golden Eagles after having been a freshman at Indiana, all eyes were on Fischer to fill the gap left by Henry Ellenson.

Although that was always going to be a tall order, Fischer showed that he has become a well-rounded center. He may lack the ability to play away from the basket that has become key for NBA bigs on both ends of the floor, but as his per 40 minute season averages of 18.3 points, 9.9 rebounds and 2.8 blocks illustrate, he’s very fundamentally sound working at the rim.
