Malcolm Hill
Another 6’6″ guard, Malcolm Hill was able to do more scoring in his college days than Irvin was. Hill averaged 18.1 points per game as a junior and 17.2 points per game as a senior at Illinois as a member of the Fighting Illini.
Hill started shooting more threes in his senior season, and although his points per game decreased his stock as a player might have benefitted from him making 35.5 percent of 5.2 attempted triples per game last season.
In fact, Hill’s drop in production is more due to him playing a little less than playing worse. He actually scored 0.1 points more per 40 minutes in his senior year than he did in his junior season, while increasing both his two- and three-point percentages.
Hill’s complete line for his senior season is impressive, as the 21-year-old averaged 17.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He finished the season third in the Big Ten in both bulk and per game scoring, and 10th in PER.
