Weaknesses

Notice that Tyreke Evans doesn’t have any Ds in it. That’s because Evans isn’t adding anything on D, or at least he hasn’t in his career thus far. Even in that first strong season in Sacramento, Evans has never had a higher offensive than defensive rating.

That means, according to those statistics, Evans has never been a plus player in his career. A lot of things complicate that number, including the fact that he’s exclusively played on pretty bad teams thus far in his career.

Additionally, it’s hard to delve too deep into Evans’ recent history because it’s very limited. He played 40 games last season and just 25 the year before. His injury history doesn’t make him un-signable or anything like that, but it’s certainly a red flag.

Finally, as Evans has increased his ability to hit threes he’s lost some of his finishing skill. In the first four years of his career, Evans hit 47.7 percent of his two-pointers. Those shots made up a huge portion of his points totals in those seasons.

In the last two seasons, that number has dropped to 43.9 percent. Will Evans ever return truly to form, like when he hit 50.8 percent of his twos in the 2012-13 season? Maybe, but the injuries make it less likely.
