Salary

Trying to predict NBA free agency deals can be so tricky. Nobody outside of Los Angeles seemed to think Timofey Mozgov was worth $64 million, and there have to be several teams wondering why they didn’t land Seth Curry for $3 million a season.

Much like Tyreke Evans, the last free agent profile we did here at the site, Swaggy might get overlooked because of his chucker reputation. Teams are interested in space and pace basketball–Nick Young does not seem like a prime facilitator with his 1.0 assist per game career average.

Still, some team like the Brooklyn Nets that needs to simply put the ball in the basket more might be interested in Young. He’s proven he can shoot threes at a high volume and make them at a good clip too–that has value.

Still, bad reputations mean a lot around the NBA. Michael Beasley and JaVale McGee are super-talented athletes, but they’ve had trouble sticking to a team and both were had for veteran minimum contracts over the past two seasons. Swaggy P likely will make more than that, but maybe not by a lot.
