C.J. Miles managed to put up the best three-point shooting season of his career last year. Does that make him an attractive option in NBA free agency?

Shooters shoot, and that’s exactly what C.J. Miles did all season long with the Indiana Pacers. The wing player, who has played fairly evenly at small forward and shooting guard for most of his career, will enter NBA free agency coming off of a season that saw him hit 40 percent from deep for the first time in his career.

More from Bucks Free Agency

The 30-year-old Miles had a player option for next season, to stay with Indiana, but he declined it in search of other offers. We’ll get more into that decision later, but suffice it to say Miles wasn’t dumb to turn down the option year.

Miles has played 12 seasons with three different NBA teams, and unless he signs with the Pacers, Utah Jazz or Cleveland Cavaliers he’ll soon get up to four. Interestingly, though, Miles has never been traded by a team–he always leaves in free agency.

This is a good career already for a second-round pick like Miles was. He is, of course, looking to expand his playing days beyond these first 12 seasons. Might the Milwaukee Bucks offer a good home for Miles next season?

To find out, let’s look through his strengths, weaknesses, potential salary and fit with the Bucks. After going through all of those things, we should be able to tell if Milwaukee should pursue C.J. Miles in NBA free agency.
