Fit with the Bucks

Wilson is an interesting option for the Milwaukee Bucks. Picking at 17, there isn’t likely to be a can’t-miss prospect available. Milwaukee may continue their trend of picking a high-upside player who tests well athletically.

With Jabari Parker’s future in question, new GM Jon Horst may decide to take a risk on a stretch four. It’d be a stretch to take Wilson in the middle of the first round, but that being said, he’d be an interesting addition to this lengthy team.

He has a lot of the abilities you’d like to see paired with Giannis Antetkounmpo. Although I’m not sure he’ll become a starting caliber player in the NBA, fit may allow him to do just that in Milwaukee.

In the same way Tony Snell improved his reputation around the league, Wilson can play alongside the Greek Freak without imposing himself. This would allow Wilson to do what he does best, run the floor, back cut, hit spot-up shots, and contest shooters on the perimeter.

Even as a backup, there is potential that he could provide similar production to Michael Beasley.

It’s almost a certainty the Bucks will have the option of taking Wilson when the clock starts at 17. I’d love to see them trade down if they’re interested in selecting him. The only way that may come to fruition would be another team being infatuated with Harry Giles.

That being said, there’s nothing wrong with taking a end of the first round talent you appreciate at 17.
