2016-17 stats (with MIL): 6 GP, 3.3 PPG, 2 RPG, 2.2 APG, .5 SPG, .7 BPG, 1.7 TOV, 36.4 FG%, 11.1 3P%, 60 FT%

A late addition for the Bucks last season, Gary Payton II is in prime position to show what he has to offer in a featured role during Summer League, especially with Malcolm Brogdon not slated to appear this year.

So far, Payton’s time with the Bucks has been limited to just six games, logging 99 minutes of action over that span. Of course, that doesn’t account for his time with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Houston Rockets’ G League affiliate, who he spent the majority of last season with.

There’s no doubt Payton’s athleticism can translate to an NBA setting, but more questions still stand in the way of whether he can prove to be worthy of a spot on the Bucks’ roster in the long-term.

Payton will certainly be put to the test over the next few days or so and depending on how his performance goes, it may have big ramifications as the Bucks will still have plenty of time to fill out their roster over the offseason as well as shape the roster for the Herd.
