Milwaukee Bucks: Malcolm Brogdon season preview 2017-18
By Adam McGee
Expectations for Brogdon this season
In short, the expectation for Malcolm Brogdon should be for more of the same. It wouldn’t be all that shocking if he goes through a rough patch at some point — as many players do in their second season — but overall, the hope has to be that he can replicate his production from year one.
If Brogdon can add new wrinkles to his game and surpass the high standards from his rookie year, that could be a major boon to Milwaukee’s postseason push, and change the way that those inside and outside of the organization are currently framing the Bucks’ short term targets.
Having shown nice flashes of being able to take players off the dribble and use his body to create scoring opportunities at the rim, greater aggression from Brogdon while penetrating toward the basket could put an end to questions over the Bucks’ long-term point guard once and for all.
Otherwise, Jason Kidd will be hoping to call on Brogdon for the same kind of consistent shooting and defensive effort that were the backbone of his contributions last season.
