Expectations for Antetokounmpo this season

When it comes to what to expect from Antetokounmpo this upcoming season, the biggest question has to be how much more can he continue to top himself.

All we know of Antetokounmpo’s first four years in the league is the incredible rate at which he’s improved season after season. Of course, his numbers back that up in all major statistical categories, but it goes well beyond that as we’ve seen Giannis mature significantly as a leader and as a person off the court too.

It’s obviously a part of the thrill of seeing a player like Giannis grow in front of our very eyes and his ongoing success is made all the more deserving, considering the hardships that he had to endure before finding a home in Milwaukee more than four years ago.

Now whether Antetokounmpo’s play can hit another level after his watershed season last year is a question that we truly won’t know the answer to until we get deeper into the year. However, to say that it’s a tough act to follow would be off the mark, considering Antetokounmpo is more than capable of hitting another gear in his development.

We know of Antetokounmpo’s MVP aspirations and with each passing day, it’s something that feels very attainable for a player of his stature and abilities, especially after he finished tied for seventh in MVP voting last season.

Regardless of whether we still see incremental improvements, the day is coming where we look to Giannis being something of a finished product, so to speak.

Whether we’re closer to that day or it’s still far off on the horizon obviously remains to be seen, but it just goes to show that the player Giannis is at this point in his career is already in a class only several are in around the league.
