The Milwaukee Bucks just fell short against the Dallas Mavericks in their preseason opener on Monday, but there were plenty of positive performances along the way.
The end result of preseason games is never going to be more important than the process and journey up until that point, and with that in mind, the Milwaukee Bucks had plenty of reason to feel good on Monday night.
As the players continue to work up to full fitness and gradually try to move toward peak playing condition for the start of the season, preseason acts as an opportunity to show flashes of what they’ve worked on over the summer, but primarily as a chance to regain comfort.
With that considered, the Bucks should feel pleased with how their players performed in their opening preseason loss.

Almost every player who took to the floor for Milwaukee could point to at least some positive aspects of their performance, and in total Jason Kidd found minutes for 15 of the 17 players who were available to play.
The Bucks certainly won’t be hurt if they manage to come through preseason having experienced a few competitive games, and this matchup with Dallas certainly delivered on that front, even offering some crunch time reps for Milwaukee’s younger, more inexperienced players.
