How does Wilson fit in?

The timing arguably couldn’t have worked out better for Wilson to make the jump and ultimately come to Milwaukee when he did. Despite their best laid plans, the Bucks have a lot of uncertainty when it comes to their depth at the 4-spot, star Giannis Antetokounmpo notwithstanding.

After a surprising season with the Bucks last season, Michael Beasley took his talents to the New York Knicks this offseason. Jabari Parker is in the midst of working his way back after having torn his left ACL for the second time in his young career and Mirza Teletovic is looking to make a return to form after a disappointing first season with the Bucks last year.

For all those reasons, Wilson has a fair shot to break through in the team’s rotation as soon as the season tips off.

While both Malcolm Brgodon and Thon Maker got contrasting roles in their respective rookie seasons, we saw how head coach Jason Kidd utilized them last year and wasn’t afraid to throw both players in the fire at key points in games, and the season as a whole.

Now to expect the same treatment for Wilson and his fellow rookie Sterling Brown heading into the coming season may be a little presumptuous, but the precedence is there for Wilson to earn a good amount of minutes for a variety of factors.
