Milwaukee Bucks: Predicting stats for the projected starters
By Rohan Katti
Giannis Antetokounmpo; G/F
2016-17 Per Game Stats: 22.9 pts, 8.8 rbs, 5.4 assists, 1.6 stl, 1.9 blk
Predicted 2017-18 Per Game Stats: 24.7 pts, 9.1 rbs, 6.7 ast, 2.1 stl, 2.0 blk
Thinking about what Giannis Antetokounmpo can do this season should be causing the rest of the NBA to lose sleep. Giannis has said multiple times that he has MVP aspirations for this season, and it seems feasible if the Bucks win a lot of games.
Giannis is prepared to do everything he can to win this season, and his statistics should reflect that. After becoming only the fifth player in NBA history (Dave Cowens, Scottie Pipper, Kevin Garnett, LeBron James) to lead his team in points, rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals, I am predicting Giannis to do it again.
There is no player in the Eastern Conference that can guard him during the regular season, and as a result, Giannis should see significant increases in every major statistical category. If Jason Kidd decides to play Antetokounmpo at center for large stretches, there is no limit to what he could accomplish.
