Major key for Milwaukee – Khris Middleton comes to play
After sparking into life in the second half of Milwaukee’s win over the Atlanta Hawks, Khris Middleton now needs to kick on and offer Giannis Antetokounmpo the kind of support the team needs from him.
There won’t be many nights when that’s more apparent than it will be on Tuesday, when the Bucks’ superstar is forced to go up against the Thunder’s elite trio.
Russell Westbrook is still running the show for the Thunder, but in Paul George and Carmelo Anthony, he now has the kind of supporting options that Giannis and the Bucks could only dream of.
Middleton is not up to their standards in an obvious way, but he needs to do all that he can to bridge that gap if the Bucks are to have a chance of winning. Middleton’s presence has consistently had a positive effect on the Bucks, but if he can play at his best it’ll make them even tougher to beat.
Replicating his 3-5 Sunday shooting from deep would be an excellent start for Middleton, as the Bucks will need to spread the floor to create space for Giannis against a particularly stingy Thunder defense.
