Milwaukee Bucks: Ranking the roster’s trade value
12. Jason Terry
What he provides
Even at his advanced age, Jason Terry still can provide a spark to an offense. He still can shoot the ball from deep, shooting 42.7 percent last season. He also provides surprising quickness for a 19-year veteran, and has good offensive awareness.
With all that being said, no team acquiring JET would be relying on him as a part of their day-to-day rotation. At this point in his career, Terry’s most valuable skills are his leadership and experience.
Contract Situation
Terry is currently signed for one-year, $2.3 million — the league minimum for a player of his experience and a very easy contract to move.
With Terry’s contract being so cheap and a one-year deal, many teams would be able to acquire JET without sending a player in return, simply by using a trade exception to acquire the veteran guard.
Potential Suitors
Terry’s low cost would make him unlikely to be looked at as a negative in a potential trade. Still, he would likely be little more than a throw in to make the salaries match.
It is worth noting that if the Bucks were to include Terry in a trade, he would have to approve due to the no-trade clause that comes with his veteran minimum contract.
