Maximum overdrive

With an increased role for the night with all the players who were sidelined for the Bucks, DeAndre Liggins arguably put in his most definitive performance of the season in the only way he knows how.

Getting over 41 minutes of action, Liggins scored just two points on 1-of-3 shooting from the field (0-of-2 from three), hauled in six rebounds, handed out two assists, grabbed five steals, had two blocks and was a -1 on the night.

Liggins displayed the same intensity and toughness on the defensive end of the floor that we’ve been accustomed to seeing so far this year. The seven-year pro drew multiple charges throughout the game to light a spark for the Bucks when they needed it most.

Offensively, the Bucks welcomed anything they were able to get out of Liggins on that end. It wasn’t until the 1:28 mark of the overtime period when Liggins sank his only make of the night, a fitting long two as the journeyman had one foot on the three-point line to get the Bucks the lead at 109-107.

Considering the adversity they were facing just heading into the night, Liggins was the shining example of ‘next man up’ for the Bucks on Wednesday night.
