Positive takeaway

Having fallen behind by as many as 12 late in the third quarter, the Herd needed a special kind of spark to ignite a comeback.

Jordan Brady’s team can generally rely on contributions from the likes of Xavier Munford, James Young, Cam Oliver and Cliff Alexander from night to night, but it was JeQuan Lewis who really delivered the missing ingredient on Friday.

Lewis started the season very impressively, but has suffered occasional dips in form since. He overcame that to put it all together on Friday for his best professional game yet, though.

The former VCU Ram racked up a career-high 20 points, while also dishing out three assists. Eight of those points came in the fourth quarter when Lewis used his remarkable speed to get to the line, and eat into Sioux Falls’ lead while the clock was stopped.

The hope for the Herd will be that he can now build on that confidence and kick on from here.
