Brogdon finds some form
Having really struggled over the last few weeks, Malcolm Brogdon arrived in Houston and delivered an incredibly impressive performance.
The reigning Rookie of the Year was given the unenviable task of guarding James Harden for long spells of the game, and did an excellent job in limiting the league’s current scoring leader to just 8-of-21 from the field.
For a lot of players, picking up a player of Harden’s caliber on the defensive end would wear down their energy reserves leaving them with little to offer on offense. That proved not to be an issue for Brogdon, though.
Brogdon racked up 20 points on 7-of-12 from the field and 3-of-5 from deep, while also chipping in with four rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal.
Brogdon’s plus/minus of +9 tells the story of his influence in this game, and in the greater context of the Bucks’ season. If Brogdon can score, create offensively and defend with this enthusiasm on a consistent level again, the Bucks could jump up a level in their play.
