Milwaukee Bucks: Takeaways from 115-111 loss to Houston Rockets
By Adam McGee
Too many fouls
The Bucks rank 28th in the NBA in terms of opponent free throw attempts, giving up 25.8 per game. On Saturday night, they far surpassed that mark and it ultimately cost them a close game.
Milwaukee did a nice job of holding the Rockets to 46.1 percent from the field and 31.4 percent on deep, but Houston was bailed out time and time again.
The Rockets shot a whopping 42 free throws, which tied their high mark for the season, and made 34 of those freebies.
With multiple fouls coming on three-pointers, the Bucks certainly gave Houston a big helping hand in a game that was only settled by two possessions.
Khris Middleton, John Henson, Eric Bledsoe, Malcolm Brogdon, Sterling Brown and Gary Payton II all had at least four fouls each. Considering the various nightmares that could have been dreamed up for how the Bucks’ defense could let them down against the Rockets, allowing them to win so cheaply is tough to take.
