Positive takeaway

As they have in their recent run of games, the Herd’s team-oriented offensive attack shone bright once again on Saturday night against the Charge.

With relatively little defensive resistance being put forth by the Charge during the night, the Herd’s hot shooting couldn’t be put out as they hit a season-high 58 percent (50-of-86) of their shots from the field and made it to the free throw line 43 times, collectively hitting 29 of their attempts from the stripe.

On top of that, the Herd’s diversified scoring output featured greatly as the team boasted six players who scored in double figures on the night (James Young, Cliff Alexander, Joel Bolomboy, Shannon Brown, Xavier Munford, Cameron Oliver, respectively).

While it all didn’t result in a very pass-happy game on their part, considering they only recorded 22 assists as a team on their 50 made field goals, the Herd made the Charge pay all night long with their more one-on-one oriented play.

Again, it was all just another reminder of the collective talent the team’s braintrust have assembled over the last few months and how much they’ve all come together nearly two months into the Herd’s inaugural season, even with all the moving parts.
