Milwaukee Bucks Game Preview: January 5 vs Toronto Raptors
By Adam McGee
Major key for Toronto – Get a more well-rounded effort
It’s unlikely that the Raptors will be able to rely on DeMar DeRozan to produce another 52-point game as he did on Monday, and with that in mind, Toronto will need other players to step up.
Kyle Lowry had a solid game on New Year’s Day, scoring 26 points, but beyond the Raptors’ star duo, only Fred VanVleet and Serge Ibaka managed to score in double digits and they only managed 11 points each.
The Raptors do have the means to run a more balanced scoring effort, but that will require more than six points from Jonas Valanciunas and more than eight points from C.J. Miles.
There’s a chance, albeit a slim one, that the Bucks will focus all of their defensive attention on DeRozan forcing his teammates to carry the Raptors. They are capable of doing that, but it would be a better strategy on Milwaukee’s part to let them try, rather than conceding 52 points to their best player.
