Positive takeaway

Admittedly, there weren’t many aspects of the Herd’s performance on Friday night that stood in a positive light. But if we have to go with one, it would have to be their overall efficiency from the free throw line.

Entering last night’s game as the 19th-best free throw shooting team in the league at 75 percent, the Herd made the most of their trips to the stripe by going 23-of-28 from the line on the night.

In fact, the Herd’s activity at the line stood as one of the rare stat battles that swung in their favor as the Drive only made eight trips to the free throw line by comparison, making just five of them.

Again, it’s certainly not something the Herd want to hold their head up high about, considering how the overall night went, but it’s something to fall back on knowing that it was an improvement on what had been their season performance so far.
