Failing to catch fire

While Middleton may have had the roughest shooting night individually for the Bucks, it was just the tip of the iceberg when it came to the team’s overall effectiveness from the field and from downtown.

As Matt Velazquez of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel pointed out near the end of the game, Sunday marked the Bucks’ worst shooting performance of the season as they were 25-of-79 from the field (31.6 percent) and 4-of-28 from three (14.3 percent) for the game.

In what shouldn’t come as a surprise, that also marked the worst shooting performance by a Heat opponent so far this year, as Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel pointed out after the game.

While it was one thing for their looks to not go down, it was another thing to see the team’s contintuous cramped spacing and how hard the Bucks had to work for the buckets that did go down. Even their bread and butter, breaking out in transition, was mired in questionable decision making and errant miscues, Eric Bledsoe being the biggest culprit in that regard.

A miserable offensive performance all around, it’s hard to mine and find any positives that shone throughout the Bucks’ play on that end of the floor on Sunday afternoon.
