Positive takeaway

Being without their leading scorer as well as playmaker for the season in Xavier Munford, the Herd weren’t going to get anywhere against the Bulls on Friday night if they didn’t share the ball within their offense.

As it turned out, the Herd didn’t get bogged down with scoring primarily one-on-one as they registered 24 assists on their 36 made field goals for the night.

The standout in this regard was JeQuan Lewis as he was distributing the ball with plenty of poise and finished with 11 assists on the night — the third game of the year where he’s tallied double-digit assists (he also only recorded one turnover to go along with that).

With the limited number of shot creators currently on the roster, especially when it comes to setting up scores for others, the Herd will have to build on and maintain a cohesive offense to get back to winning ways consistently.
