Concerning takeaway

As has been the case since the departure of former Herd standout James Young, the Herd’s diminished three-point shooting prowess was an issue on Friday night, considering they were trailing for the majority of the contest.

On the night, the Herd shot 6-of-20 from downtown, which was heavily contrasted by the Bulls’ solid three-point shooting night as they went 13-of-33 from beyond the arc.

If it weren’t for JeQuan Lewis and his four three-pointers for the night, including a big three with 1:50 to go to bring the Herd’s deficit down to four, it was going to be tough for them to make any significant leeway when they’re currently short on players who are willing to fire away from deep and/or knock down three-point shots sufficiently.

Of course, that was a challenge only made harder without having Munford for the night, but the Herd’s declining three-point shooting has quickly become their biggest Achilles’ heel, especially with the current imbalance on their roster.
