The Wisconsin Herd were dealt their fourth straight loss Wednesday afternoon as they couldn’t soar past the Erie Bayhawks late.

The Wisconsin Herd’s longest losing slump of the season got a little longer Wednesday afternoon as they fell late to the Erie Bayhawks at Menominee Nation Arena, losing 95-94.

Starting things off early Wednesday morning, thanks to a tip time of 11:30 AM central time, the Herd rose to the challenge early by quickly getting out in front of the Bayhawks in the opening few minutes of the game. But Erie was quick to answer back as they settled into the rhythm of the game and eventually took control of the lead by the end of the first, thanks to a late buzzer beating three by new addition Beau Beech.

The Bayhawks carried that over into the second quarter and broke open the game in their favor, in part due to the Herd struggling to take care of the ball and failing to capitalize on the possessions they did have throughout the period.

Trailing by 13 heading into the second half, the Herd stormed back throughout the third, outscoring the Bayhawks 34-20 in the frame and retaking a one-point lead going into the final quarter.

That all set up a tightly contested end to the game with the Bayhawks threatening to finish off the Herd midway through the period before the Herd climbed back to set up a tense finish in the day’s final moments.

Down by 2 with 24.9 seconds to go in the game, Bucks rookie forward D.J. Wilson inbounded the ball to only have it pitched back to him and promptly turned around to nail a late three-pointer to take a one-point lead with 15.5 to go. But Hawks two-way player Josh Magette played the part of spoiler by draining a mid-range jumper on the ensuing possession and sealing the Bayhawks’ victory over the Herd.
