Positive takeaway

Having recently lacked a bit of firepower as well as playing short handed, the Herd got a big boost with all three of D.J. Wilson, Xavier Munford and Marshall Plumlee getting the call down to join them in Oshkosh Wednesday morning/afternoon.

The Wilson/Munford/Plumlee trio powered the way for the Herd as they combined to score 60 of the Herd’s 94 points on the game.

While we’ll dig into Wilson’s performance more in depth later, Plumlee had a sound showing with his double-double day (21 points and 10 rebounds) and was a free throw shooting magnet, having gone to the stripe 14 times and converting on nine of his many attempts.

Munford, however, took some time getting back into the swing of things and had a down shooting performance on the whole with his 14-point day on 5-of-14 shooting from the field (0-of-3 from deep, 4-of-8 from the line).

Although it came in a losing effort, the collective showing from all three of Wilson/Munford/Plumlee didn’t go unnoticed by any means and we’ll see if the Herd will be able to lean on them to get out of their losing skid over the weekend.
