Does point guard depth need to be addressed?

I took a look on Wednesday at some of the players that Milwaukee could decide to target if they’re overly concerned about their point guard depth, but the more pressing question is whether they have a need to feel that way.

With Malcolm Brogdon scheduled to miss 6-8 weeks and Matthew Dellavedova reportedly out for 3-4 weeks, the Bucks will be without key guards for a meaningful period of time, but may still have both men back for when it matters most.

Perhaps Jon Horst and his front office team, and Joe Prunty and his coaching staff are satisfied with the team’s current options and their ability to get by with some less conventional lineups throughout that time.

The decision that would need to be weighed up is whether they can afford the risk of even just another minor injury to a guard and where that would leave their teams at a key juncture for playoff position.

There’ll always be free agents returning from overseas and those who become available due to buyouts, but Milwaukee’s confidence in Dellavedova and Brogdon returning in those previously announced timelines will likely dictate whether they opt for the safe or riskier route.
