Positive takeaway

Wednesday night marked the Herd’s best three-point shooting performance in a number of weeks, arguably even the best since the turn of the calendar year.

For the game, the Herd shot 14-of-29 from deep (48 percent), their highest mark for three-point makes as well as effectiveness in over a month (uncoincidentally, back when the Herd had swingman James Young on their roster, who’s now a member of the Philadelphia 76ers organization).

Even without their most consistent three-point marksman in two-way player Xavier Munford on the night, the Herd got plenty of contributions, ranging from their newer additions in Ricky Ledo and James Blackmon Jr., to the seldom used Eron Harris, who was a perfect 3-of-3 from downtown in his seven minutes of play, which all came during the fourth quarter when the game was out of hand.

Considering how their struggles had trended up until last night, it’s hard to determine whether this marks the Herd turning the corner with their three-point output from here on out, especially given the context and circumstances. Nevertheless, it stood as a bright spot in what was an otherwise disheartening night overall for the Herd.
