Concerning takeaway (Part II)

Putting aside another 20-turnover performance, it was the Drive’s presence on the boards that also powered their victory over the Herd on Friday night. On the game, the Drive out-rebounded the Herd 50-40.

Considering the Drive entered the game with the highest defensive rebounding percentage as well as the second-best rebounder throughout the league in big man Landry Nnoko, the Herd had their work cut for them on the glass, especially with both Bolomboy and Alexander sitting on the sidelines once again.

Due to foul trouble, however, Nnoko was limited to just 13 minutes and six total rebounds, leaving the Drive to rely on other options within their frontcourt. As it turned out, the Drive got exactly that as both Derek Willis and Jon Horford notably led the way by garnering double-digit rebounds for the night.

While the Herd were able to get an out of character 15-rebound night out of Bucks rookie D.J. Wilson, the Drive’s ability to get rebounding contributions from virtually everyone who earned minutes last night was too much to overcome for the Herd in that regard.
