OG Anunoby – Toronto Raptors (F, 23rd Overall)

With the 23rd pick, the Toronto Raptors selected OG Anunoby, the prospect from Indiana who likely would have gone in the top 10 had it not been for a knee injury he suffered in college.

Anunoby projected to be an impact defender with the ability to develop a three-point shot. Through 55 games this year, he is averaging only 6.0 points (on 44.8 percent from the field and 34.6 percent from deep) and 2.5 rebounds, but is filling an important role on one of the best teams in the league.

The 20-year-old’s defense has been noticeable, as he can switch across multiple positions and guard them effectively, but his three-point shot has produced better results than what could have been reasonably expected.

Anunoby is currently shooting 34.6 percent on 5.0 three-point attempts per 36 minutes. This productivity has led to an 11.5 net rating, good for second on the team among regular rotation players. For the Bucks, there is no question that Sterling Brown‘s emergence has been encouraging, but Anunoby would have given them another capable rotation player on the wing.
