Wilson’s future

There are other players the Bucks could have reasonably taken in the first round who could have helped them this season, but they preferred Wilson.

While it is highly unlikely that he will provide any meaningful minutes this season, Milwaukee needs to hope that Wilson’s time with the Herd and an off-season program will help his development.

It would not be totally implausible for Wilson to develop a style of play tailored to his strengths, namely his shooting, athleticism and defensive tools.

It may take time, but the Bucks should take every measure necessary to help him, and then over time give him the opportunity so they can learn if Wilson could become a rotation player in the long-term.

Given their well-documented cap issues and recent history with first-round picks, the Bucks simply cannot afford for these picks to continue to flop.
