Concerning takeaway

With the Mad Ants entering the game at less than full strength with a couple of significant contributors getting call ups on Tuesday afternoon, it was safe to assume that may have helped matters for the Herd going into the night, considering they needed any breaks to go their way with all of their ongoing struggles.

But given their relatively lackluster defensive effort throughout the game, the Herd didn’t do themselves any favors as the Mad Ants shot 54 percent from the field and hit 10-of-26 from three (38 percent) that made up their 128 points.

It certainly came to a head in the third quarter when the Mad Ants outscored the Herd 42-24 in the frame, which provided the difference for the game ultimately.

With their many moving parts, ranging from Jennings, having their two-way players available to them or having Joel Bolomboy return from injury, it may have been wishful thinking to think things would gel quickly for the Herd on the defensive end for the night and throughout the remaining run for the season.
