Wisconsin Herd’s playoff hopes take big hit with loss to Lakeland Magic
Concerning takeaway
In what’s firmly become a troubling trend over the last few weeks, the Herd’s performance on the glass on both ends of the floor heavily contributed to why things didn’t go their way on Friday night.
For the game, the Magic outrebounded the Herd 50-35, which is tied for their third-lowest rebounding total for a single game this year.
And as has been a norm regardless of their ability to attack the glass on a given night, the Magic were able to keep possessions alive all night long by corralling 15 offensive rebounds. Diving deeper into that, the Magic generated 23 second chance points on their reloads for the night.
By comparison, the Herd were able to score eight second chance points on their eight offensive rebounds for the night.
Even with the Herd having plenty of size and willing rebounders in almost all areas of their roster, it was plain to see how much the Magic’s own size and eagerness to chase down long rebounds after misses was an element in their play that the Herd couldn’t overcome both physically and mentally.
