Milwaukee Bucks: Takeaways from 121-103 win over Memphis Grizzlies
The return of Snell’s bells
Lost in all of the Jennings madness and other miscellaneous details, Monday night marked the long awaited semi-return to form for Bucks swingman Tony Snell.
Playing just over 30-and-a-half minutes, Snell put up 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field (4-of-6 from deep), four assists, two steals, one turnover and was a +7.
With all of his scores coming from beyond the three-point line, Snell buried all four of his treys at timely moments in the night. It also gave him double figures for the first time in nearly a month as he last scored 10 or more points back on February 15 in the Bucks’ loss 134-123 loss to the Denver Nuggets (though, it should be noted on inefficient shooting by Snell’s standards).
Defensively, Snell was very steady, whether that ranged from his engaged one-on-one play or closing out any of the Grizzlies’ three-point shooters when needed.
It’s too soon to declare whether this version of Snell is here to stay, but having the 26-year-old’s complementary perimeter shooting would certainly be a big boon for a Bucks team that is always in need of willing and effective shooters to open things up more on the offensive end.
