Late collapses

The biggest story on the night was the 20-point lead blown by the Bucks in the late third and early fourth quarter. At the 2:08 mark of the third quarter, Milwaukee had taken the lead 95-75.  Within three minutes, the deficit was down to 10. Six minutes later, the Lakers had taken the lead 107-106, and the rest of the game was a close contest.

The main culprit of this run was an offensively and defensively-challenged lineup of Brandon Jennings, Jason Terry, Shabazz Muhammad, Jabari Parker, and Giannis Antetokounmpo. This group seemingly alternated stagnant, isolated, offensive possessions with poor defensive effort that allowed Zubac to take control of the game for a short stretch.

In addition to losing a 20-point lead, the Bucks also managed to allow the Lakers back into the game after taking a quick nine point advantage in overtime.

Milwaukee surely had tired legs after their contest with the Golden State Warriors the previous night, but allowing a short-handed Lakers team back into the game twice is frustrating from any perspective. Regardless, they managed to secure an important victory if they are to have any hope of improving their playoff seeding and keeping their first-round draft pick this year.
