Major key for Boston – Stay red-hot from deep

Not only are the Celtics 7-2 since Kyrie Irving last suited up, but they’ve managed to further boost what was already a season of stellar shooting from behind the three-point line.

Boston ranks second to only Golden State in terms of overall three-point percentage for the season overall, at 38 percent compared to the Warriors’ 39.3 percent.

In the time since their star point guard went down with a knee injury, they are comfortably the NBA’s best three-point shooting team, though, setting a torrid pace that could certainly cause the Bucks a whole host of problems.

Although the Celtics’ attempts have unsurprisingly dropped off from distance without Irving, Boston’s efficiency has soared to 44.8 percent.

Since Irving last played, 10 Celtics have attempted a three-pointer and only Guerschon Yabusele is shooting less than 40 percent among them.

With the Bucks’ well-documented issues with giving up the three ball, Boston’s abundance of in-form shooters is likely to become a factor in this game.
